Azerbaijan

Hi folks, I have been off the blog for quite some time and my husband said to me last week, you need to get back to your European food blog so here I am looking up recipes for Azerbaijan. My knowledge of this country is pretty small so I did some reading today. It has a quite interesting history. If you look on a map you will see it boarding Russia and Iran on the Caspian Sea. It is a muslim country that has equal rights between male and female. It had belonged to Russia until civil war began around 1980. They gained  independence along with Armenia in 1991. The Armenians and the Azerbaijan fought over land for 3 years after that and peace finally came in 1994.
The meal I will make tomorrow for my husband and I will be a simple meal of Herbed Yogurt soup and a sweet bread. I would love to make you kabobs, but we just had a blizzard and it is -12 degrees as well as we moved this summer we had not bought a new bbq grill for the house and all I have is a travel grill. So no grilling! But the recipes and pictures I saw looked amazing. Not sure about mutton though. :)

See you tomorrow!
